About Gujarat Solar Energy
Established in 2019, Gujarat Solar Energy has grown into one of India’s most trusted names in the residential solar energy sector. Our journey began with a simple mission: to make clean, affordable solar energy a mainstream solution for every Indian household. Today, with over 25,000 successful installations and more than 250 residential societies powered, we continue to lead the charge towards a greener, energy-independent future.
We specialize in grid-connected rooftop solar systems and offer comprehensive services that cover everything from consultation and design to installation, government approvals, and long-term maintenance.
Our commitment to quality, transparency, and customer satisfaction sets us apart. At Gujarat Solar Energy, we don’t just install solar panels—we build long-term energy partnerships that last over 25 years, the typical lifespan of a solar system.
Our Services:
Turnkey installation of on-grid solar rooftop systems for homes and societies
Site survey and custom solar system design
Government approvals and subsidy facilitation
Net metering setup and DISCOM coordination
Post-installation support, including maintenance and AMC
Financing options including zero upfront investment and EMIs
We use high-grade, prefabricated mounting structures, designed to withstand extreme weather, including high-speed winds up to 180 km/h, ensuring system durability and safety.
Understanding On-Grid Solar Systems
An on-grid solar system, also called a grid-tied system, is connected to the state electricity grid. It is best suited for urban households with reliable electricity access. These systems produce solar energy during the day and use grid electricity at night or when solar generation is insufficient.
How It Works:
Solar panels absorb sunlight and generate DC (direct current) electricity.
A solar inverter converts DC into AC (alternating current) used in your home.
The AC is routed through a bi-directional net meter.
Excess electricity is exported to the grid, while grid power is imported when needed.
Net metering records both exported and imported energy, and your bill is calculated on the net difference.
This system ensures minimal reliance on batteries, reduces electricity bills drastically, and enables quicker returns on investment.
Key Components of an On-Grid System
Solar Panels: These generate DC electricity from sunlight. Best installed on south-facing rooftops.
Solar Inverter: Converts DC to AC. This is the brain of the system, enabling household usage.
Mounting Structures: Made from corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, they provide a stable foundation for solar panels.
Electrical Accessories: Includes AC/DC cables, connectors, protection devices, and combiner boxes for system safety and efficiency.
Bi-directional Meter: Tracks both the energy consumed from and exported to the grid, used for net metering billing.
Government Subsidy for Residential Users
The Indian government provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for residential rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana:
System Size | Subsidy Amount |
---|---|
1 kW | ₹30,000 |
2 kW | ₹60,000 |
3 kW | ₹78,000 |
Above 3 kW | ₹78,000 (Capped) |
To be eligible, the system must:
Be installed at a residential premise
Use Made in India (DCR) solar panels
Be grid-connected and net-metered
For Housing Societies
Residential societies can claim subsidies up to ₹18,000 per kW for systems used for common facilities, capped at 500 kW.
System Size | Avg. Monthly Units | Yearly Units | Yearly Savings (₹8/unit) |
---|---|---|---|
1 kW | 116 units | 1,400 | ₹11,200 |
2 kW | 232 units | 2,800 | ₹22,400 |
3 kW | 348 units | 4,200 | ₹33,600 |
5 kW | 580 units | 7,000 | ₹56,000 |
10 kW | 1,160 units | 14,000 | ₹112,000 |
System Size | Cost (Without Subsidy) | Cost (With Subsidy) |
---|---|---|
1 kW | ₹60,000 – ₹62,000 | ₹30,000 – ₹32,000 |
2 kW | ₹1,20,000 – ₹1,24,000 | ₹60,000 – ₹64,000 |
3 kW | ₹1,80,000 – ₹1,86,000 | ₹1,70,000 – ₹1,78,000 |
4 kW | ₹2,40,000 – ₹2,48,000 | ₹1,90,000 – ₹1,96,000 |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
It is a solar system connected to the main power grid. It allows you to use solar energy during the day and draw from the grid when needed. Excess energy is exported and credited to your electricity bill.
No. On-grid systems automatically shut down during outages for safety (Anti-Islanding Protection).
No batteries are needed. The grid acts as your backup, which reduces system costs.
Very minimal. Occasional panel cleaning and annual servicing under our AMC ensures optimal performance.
